 After five years working as a substitute teacher in more than fifteen elementary and middle schools across the five clusters of District 4, Camille Christopher developed both a deep concern and a renewed passion for the future of our schools.

When Camille moved to the area in 1998, Gwinnett County schools were widely recognized as among the best in the state. Through her experience working in classrooms today, she believes our schools must refocus on strong academic foundations so every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Camille has seen firsthand the dedication teachers bring to their classrooms each day, as well as the challenges they face. She believes educators deserve meaningful support from school leadership, including more time to plan lessons, collaborate with colleagues, and focus on helping students learn and grow.

Her classroom experience has also shown her that students who are learning English need stronger support to help them succeed academically. Camille believes schools must ensure these students receive the resources they need to fully participate in the classroom and reach their full potential.

Finally, Camille believes student and teacher safety must always remain a priority. Safe, well-managed classrooms allow teachers to teach and students to learn. When educators are supported and clear expectations are in place, schools become environments where every student can thrive.

Camille is running for School Board to advocate for students, support teachers, and work with families and community leaders to strengthen Gwinnett County schools.
